Community
The members of the North West Iron Ore Alliance are committed to the long term development and enrichment of the communities in which we operate, and share a key goal of making the Pilbara region a better place to live and work.
The Alliance members are actively involved in activities such as community information meetings, community engagement plans, and community sponsorships, to ensure local Pilbara residents are closely involved in the ongoing development of our projects, and benefit from the additional income and employment we will bring to the region.
In April 2008, the North West Iron Ore Alliance was a Silver Sponsor of the Rotary Club of Port Hedland Charity Ball, to help raise funds to rebuild the Hedland Senior High School library, which was destroyed by fire. This was the first of the Alliance’s community initiatives, and we will actively seek further similar opportunities to assist with the ongoing growth and development of the Pilbara.
The Alliance members are also committed to establishing and maintaining positive and meaningful dialogue with the area’s indigenous owners.
